13 Days Best of Kenya Safaris

Day 1: Nairobi to Aberdare National Park
Pick up after breakfast from your Nairobi hotel and depart heading north to Aberdare National Park arriving in time at the base hotel for lunch. Afternoon transfer to a tree hotel or at camp. The tree hotels provides spectacular viewing perches for afternoon and night game viewing. Game is attracted by the waterholes and salt licks around the lodges. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 2: Aberdare National Park to Samburu Game Reserve
After breakfast a transfer to the Base Hotel and drive north to rugged and remote Samburu/Shaba Game Reserve and buffalo’s spring. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives along the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river looking for animals rarely seen elsewhere the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryxes, giraffe necked gazelle (gerenuk), and the Blue-necked Somali Ostrich. It also boasts the highest Elephant Population in Kenya. The scenery is unrivalled – numerous hills, valleys and scrublands stretching to the horizon. This reserve offers the best chance of seeing the Elusive Leopard along the riverine forest. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 3: Samburu/Shaba Game Reserve
Day shall be spent at the Samburu game reserve with unlimited game viewing drives along the banks of the Ewaso nyiro River. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 4: Samburu/Shaba National Reserve to Ol Pejeta Sweetwaters
After breakfast at your lodge/Tented camp, check-out drive proceeding south continue on the road through Isiolo to the cooler Mount Kenya/Laikipia region for lunch. Afternoon game viewing drives at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Ol Pejeta Conservancy Host to all the members of the ‘Big Five’:- elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard. This is also home to the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, and shelters large numbers of rare and endangered species. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge

Day 5: Ol Pejeta Sweetwaters to Lake Nakuru National Park
Morning shall be spent with game viewing drives around the game sanctuary. Later proceed to the shallow alkaline lake Nakuru famous for its flamingo population estimated to be more than a million hence it is referred to as the ‘Birds Paradise’ by bird watchers arriving in time for lunch and short rest. The scenic drive is via Thomson’s Falls where you stop to view the waterfalls. Later proceed for afternoon game drives along the shores of Lake Nakuru. There are no elephants in the park but the other big five can be spotted including tree climbing lions, the white and the black rhinos which are endangered species in Kenya, the rare Rothschild Giraffe, Cape buffaloes, Waterbucks, Gazelles, Leopard and primates etc can be spotted as well at the park. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara Game Reserve
After an early breakfast, depart to Kenya’s finest wildlife haven Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in good time for lunch and rest. Later proceed for afternoon game drive to see the many animals that inhabit this unique park offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 7: Masai Mara Game Reserve
After an early morning breakfast you will have a full day for game viewing and exploring this spectacular park in search of the big cats- black manned lions, cheetahs and leopards. You also have a chance to see other plains game like the Topi, Buffalo, Hippopotamus, Common Zebra, Coke's Hartebeest, White-bearded Gnu, Oribi, Warthog and Thomson's and Grant's Gazelles and then an optional 5.00pm Maasai village visit to experience their traditional way of life. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 8: Masai Mara Game Reserve to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, depart from Masaai Mara to Rift Valley and freshwater Lake Naivasha for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure or enjoy optional activities here that includes boat rides, trip to Crescent Islands, Biking, Hiking, guided walks and much more. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 9: Lake Naivasha - Tsavo West National Park
After an early breakfast, depart for Tsavo National Park. The Park is a vast expansion of African savanna with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills and rock outcrops. It's famous for the Red Elephants, Oryx, and Gerenuk among other mammal's species and bird life. Other notable features include Mzima Springs which are water source for Mombasa Town, Shetani Lava Flow and Ash cones, which is an example of recent volcanic eruption. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge

Day 10: Tsavo West National Park
Two game drives are scheduled for this day. The extensive diverse habitats offer ideal area to search for pride of lions, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffe, zebras, hippos and wildebeests. Mzima springs where you will have a chance of watching hippos, crocodiles, fishes and water birds. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 11: Tsavo West National Park to Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, depart to Amboseli National Park with lunch enroute arrive in time for an afternoon game-drive. Amboseli National Park lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Africa’s highest mountain at 5,896m whose snow-caped summit presents a splendid view on a clear day. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 12: Amboseli National Park
Morning rise with a good view of Mount Kilimanjaro and set off for full-day exploration of Amboseli National Park in search of lions, leopards, cheetah, rhinos and many species of plan game and more than 420 species of birds with an optional tour to a Maasai village to experience their traditional way of life. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 13: Amboseli National Park to Nairobi
You will have early pre-breakfast game viewing drive in search of the predators and grazers and then return to our camp/lodge for breakfast and exit Amboseli National Park around 0930hrs for dropped off either at your Nairobi hotel or at Namanga border control (and connect with our Tanzanian Pita representative driver guide) or at Nairobi Airport for your departure flight back home
