8 Days Kenya & Tanzania Safaris

Day 1: Nairobi - Lake Nakuru
Drive from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru, Sightseeing along the rift valley en route & birding and wildlife viewing upon arrival: Safari starts with pick up from a Nairobi hotel or Airport and after safari briefing depart Nairobi latest by 0800hrs driving North West of Nairobi through the floor of the Great Rift Valley past Naivasha to arrive Nakuru in the late morning hours. The rest of the day, undertake game viewing in Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara
Transfer from Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Park & do an evening game drive: Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast driving to Masai Mara to arrive in the early afternoon hours for lunch. In the late afternoon hours enjoy evening game drive.

Day 3: Full Day Masai Mara National Reserve
Full day wild game exploration in Maasai Mara National Reserve & an evening optional Maasai cultural tour: After breakfast time to enjoy full day in Maasai Mara with morning and evening game drive. Maasai Mara Game Reserve which is part of the greater Serengeti Ecosystem is also a rich habitat for a myriad of wild game including the millions of Wildebeest, the Big five, Cheetah, Hyenas, other antelopes like Thomson gazelles, Zebras among other wild game. The evening can be reserved for your exploration to the Maasai people to learn more about their ancient heritage.

Day 4: Masai Mara - Serengeti National Park:
Transfer from Maasai Mara National Reserve to Serengeti National Park: Depart Masai Mara after early breakfast driving with lunch box driving to the Kenya / Tanzania boarder of Isebania. After clearing with immigration formalities change vehicles and proceed to Serengeti arriving with an introductory game drive to the camp or lodge.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park:
Full day wild game exploration in Serengeti National Park: After breakfast time to enjoy full day in Serengeti with morning and evening game drive. Serengeti National Park is one of the Africa’s best National Parks where a rewarding game drive can be undertaken. The park features the Big five including 3000 counts of Maasai Lion, about 1000 African leopards, Black Rhinos, Elephants and Buffaloes along with other wild game like Grant’s Gazelle, Thomson’s Gazelle, Eland, Wildebeest not forgetting over 500 species of birds. It is a very amazing park worth exploring.

Day 6: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater National Park
Drive to Ngorongoro Crater with a stop en route at Olduvai gorge & do an afternoon game viewing in the crater: Depart Serengeti after breakfast and with lunch box via Ol Duvai Gorge Museum. Proceed to arrive Ngorongoro for half day Crater tour. The drive in the world’s intact volcanic caldera with about 2500 counts of large animals is indeed rewarding. The sights of Black Rhino, the Buffaloes, elands, Hippos along with the breathtaking scenery combine to make an afternoon tour a rewarding one.

Day 7: Ngorongoro - Lake Manyara National Park:
Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park & do an afternoon game drive in search of tree climbing lions: After breakfast depart and leisurely morning transfer to Lake Manyara National Park to arrive for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy game drive in Lake Manyara National Park where you have chances of exploring the tree climbing lions found only in Lake Manyara National Park and in Uganda’s Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The game drive also offers possibilities of exploring other game including Klipspringers. Retire for dinner and overnight the camp or lodge.

Day 8: Ngorongo - Arusha:
Transfer to Arusha for drop off: Depart after breakfast driving back to Arusha to arrive in the late morning hours with drop off at an Arusha city hotel or at Arusha Airport in time for your onward flight to Zanzibar or Kilimanjaro Airport.
