7 Days Aberdare, Samburu, Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara

Day 1: Nairobi to Aberdare National Park
Pick up after breakfast from your Nairobi hotel and depart heading north to Aberdare National Park arriving in time at the base hotel for lunch. Afternoon transfer to a tree hotel or at camp. The tree hotels provides spectacular viewing perches for afternoon and night game viewing. Game is attracted by the waterholes and salt licks around the lodges. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 2: Aberdare National Park to Samburu Game Reserve
After breakfast a transfer to the Base Hotel and drive north to rugged and remote Samburu/Shaba Game Reserve and buffalo’s spring. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives along the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river looking for animals rarely seen elsewhere the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryxes, giraffe necked gazelle (gerenuk), and the Blue-necked Somali Ostrich. It also boasts the highest Elephant Population in Kenya. The scenery is unrivalled – numerous hills, valleys and scrublands stretching to the horizon. This reserve offers the best chance of seeing the Elusive Leopard along the riverine forest. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve
Day shall be spent at the Samburu game reserve with unlimited game viewing drives along the banks of the Ewaso nyiro River. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 4: Samburu Game Reserve to Lake Nakuru National Park
After an early breakfast, depart to the shallow alkaline lake Nakuru famous for its flamingo population estimated to be more than a million hence it is referred to as the ‘Birds Paradise’ by bird watchers arriving in time for lunch and short rest. The scenic drive is via Thomson’s Falls where you stop to view the waterfalls. Later proceed for afternoon game drives along the shores of Lake Nakuru. There are no elephants in the park but the other big five can be spotted including tree climbing lions, the white and the black rhinos which are endangered species in Kenya, the rare Rothschild Giraffe, Cape buffaloes, Waterbucks, Gazelles, Leopard and primates etc can be spotted as well at the park. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara Game Reserve
After an early breakfast, depart to Kenya’s finest wildlife haven Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in good time for lunch and rest. Later proceed for afternoon game drive to see the many animals that inhabit this unique park offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve
After an early morning breakfast you will have a full day for game viewing and exploring this spectacular park in search of the big cats- black manned lions, cheetahs and leopards. You also have a chance to see other plains game like the Topi, Buffalo, Hippopotamus, Common Zebra, Coke's Hartebeest, White-bearded Gnu, Oribi, Warthog and Thomson's and Grant's Gazelles and then an optional 5.00pm Maasai village visit to experience their traditional way of life. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.
